Jackson Creek (Dry Creek)

Jackson Creek is a 〔U.S. Geological Survey. National Hydrography Dataset high-resolution flowline data. (The National Map ), accessed March 11, 2011〕 stream in Amador County, California, which feeds into Dry Creek southwest of Ione. It was linked to gold mining during the California Gold Rush era.
Jackson Creek is dammed to create Lake Amador using a high earth and rock construction; this dam was constructed in 1965.
Tree cover in much of the watershed approaches 80 percent, with dominant tree species including Interior Live Oak, ''Quercus wislizinii'', Black Oak, ''Quercus kellogii'', Blue Oak, ''Quercus douglasiiigger'', ''Pinus sabiniana'', Ponderosa Pine, ''Pinus ponderosa'', Oregon Ash, ''Fraxinus latifolia'' and California Buckeye, ''Aesculus californica''.〔C.
